Daniel Lismore Exhibition

'BE YOURSELF...' MARKED OUR THIRD COLLABORATION WITH DANIEL LISMORE.

Raised in Coventry, Daniel is an artist, designer, perfumer, stylist and human rights warrior known to many as a living sculpture. We first encountered Daniel designing his costume for Coventry City of Culture's opening event 'Coventry Moves', after which he invited us to collaborate on Sky Arts project 'Statues Redressed'.

Immediately connected thanks to our shared love of colour, sparkle and being just that little bit extra, Daniel invited us to co-curate the UK premiere of 'Be Yourself...' at Coventry's Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. Running for over 4 months from February 2022, the exhibition included Lismore’s sculptural ensembles each fashioned from his personal collection of over 7,000 curiosities and displayed alongside his personal archive of photography, film and found objects.

We worked alongside Daniel to elevate the exhibition to the next level by placing it in a more intimate and immersive setting - creating themed rooms ranging from pride to activism with the intention of taking the audience through the story of Daniel's life, inspirations and creative processes.
